Reverend Guitars is the brainchild of guitar technician and designer Joe Naylor, who has made a name for himself designing not only guitars, but effects and amplifiers. Reverend makes guitars that have become well-known for their retro design, affordability, and ease of play.
Originally sporting guitars that were made in the USA, Reverend has since switched to guitars that are made in Korea with high quality solid woods and parts. Naylor specifically chose a factory that could build guitars to his high expectations.
The guitars are shipped to the US where they are set up Reverend‘s Detroit-area facility where they are strung, adjusted, inspected, and play-tested to very high standards. Reverend offers two main types of guitars, using either set-in neck construction or bolt-on neck construction.¬
Reverend guitar models features body-shapes that are reminiscent of traditional Gibson and Fender shapes, including the Flying V, ES-335, Les Paul, and SG. However, rather than merely copy time-honored design, Naylor has infused classic designs with his own sense of style and function. Overall Reverend guitars have a vintage vibe with a modern twist.
Reverend guitar devotees have included such renowned players as Billy Corgan, Pete Anderson, Rick Vito, Ron Asheton, and Kid Rock. Popular models include the Charger, the Club King, the Double Agent, the Gil Parris Signature, the Manta Ray, the Sensei, and the Warhawk.
